Periosteal chondroma of the ischium; an unusual location.
Periosteal chondroma is a rare benign tumor of hyaline cartilage. Periosteal chondroma arising in the ischium is an extremely rare event. By presenting this case report, we aim to remind that differential diagnosis of these lesions should be carefully performed especially for unusual locations. A 51-year-old man visited the orthopedics clinic with the complaints of left pelvic m...
متن کاملUnusual location of an intracranial chondroma.
We describe the MR findings in a case of chondroma arising from the falx. At MR imaging, the mass appeared well defined, lobulated, hypointense to isointense on T1-weighted images, and very heterogeneous with marked hyperintense areas on T2-weighted images. After contrast administration, this tumor enhanced slightly on delayed images.
متن کاملPeriosteal chondroma of the proximal tibia: report of three cases
Periosteal chondroma is a relatively rare benign cartilaginous neoplasm usually seen in young adults. We presented three cases of periosteal chondroma in the proximal tibia of a 7-year-old girl (Case 1), a 12-year-old boy (Case 2) and a 15-year-8-month old boy (Case 3). Meticulous analysis of initial and follow-up plain radiographs, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) ...

We report a case of a periosteal chondroma of the proximal tibia in an 11-year-old girl, which was initially misdiagnosed as Osgood-Schlatter's disease. The absence of pain and meticulous analysis of the imaging findings on initial and follow-up plain radiographs, ultrasound and MRI allowed to suggest the diagnosis of a periosteal chondroma, which was confirmed after biopsy. Besides the difficu...
متن کاملNevus lipomatosus superficialis on the neck: an unusual location
Nevus lipomatosus superficialis (NLS) is a hamartomatous skin lesion defined by the presence of mature adipose tissues among the collagen bundles of the dermis. It is classified into two forms:the classical form and the solitary form. The classical NLS most commonly involves the pelvic or gluteal region. In this paper, we report a case of classical NLS over the neck because of its atypica...
